Information about Palm OS(R) Emulator (POSE) for CLI(TM) Handheld

[General]

-The Palm OS Emulator for Sony CLI(TM) Handheld program is freeware and should be used at your own risk.

-This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty
of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. See the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE for more details.

-This program is created based on Palm OS Emulator 3.2.

-The program emulates only the PEG-T600C series and the PEG-T400 series.

-Before starting the program for the first time, delete the previous "Palm OS Emulator.ini" file in the Windows system folder (C:\Windows for Windows XP system and C:\WINNT for Windows 2000).
The newer version of "Palm OS Emulator.ini" installed by this program, based on Palm OS Emulator 3.2., will set the Debug Options to OFF.

-Recommended hardware and system requirements:
CPU: Pentium III 500MHz or more
   Memory: 128MB or more
   OS: Windows(R) 2000 or XP

-To emulate CLI(TM) Handheld, begin a new session and select appropriate CLI(TM) Handheld model amd ROM image.

-The program does not completely emulate the CLI handheld hardware. It is recommended that the final validation be made on an actual CLI handheld device.

-The program does not support transferring the ROM.

[Memory Stick(R) media removable memory]

-To emulate insertion and removal of the Memory Stick(R) media, press the In/Out button located at the left side of the emulator.

-A virtual folder of the Memory Stick(R) media will be created in the same directory as Emulator.exe as you start the emulator. Its size will be one of the following:

  Ms8:8Mbyte MS / Ms16:16Mbyte MS / Ms32:32Mbyte MS /
  Ms64:64Mbyte MS / Ms128:128Mbyte MS

-To emulate the write-protect mode of the Memory Stick(R) media, make the newly created MS* folder "read only" in the folder's properties. Make sure the Memory Stick(R) media is removed from your CLI(TM) Handheld as you change the folder properties, or it will not function correctly.

[Jog Dial(TM) navigator]

-Press "Push" to issue vchrJogPush; press "Push" again to issue vchrJogRelease.

-Select "Push" and then "Up" or "Down" to emulate vchrJogPushedUp and vchrJogPushedDown events respectively.

[Others]

-If you install an application file without turning on the emulator, it may freeze.

-The "Save Bound Emulator function" works only on Windows(R) NT4.0 and Windows(R) 2000 Professional Edition.

-If you select Save, Save As, or Save Screen, you need to manually add saved file extensions(e.g. .psf .bmp, etc.).

-If you start a schedule application and set an alarm with "Enable sounds" in the properties option selected, the alarm may not go off on time.

-From the Install Application/Database option: If you try to install a prc file using a former log with no prc file present in the Path, the system will quit the menu without doing any processing (No warning message will appear on the screen).

-If you connect this emulator with Code Warrior, your application may fail to enter into debug mode.

-If you have the caps lock on when you run the emulator, it will give you a dialog box that allows you to start a new session. If you do not have caps lock on, the emulator will try to load the last session, which may cause problems if the previous session was for another device.

-If you have chosen the picture from Address and change the category, the error dialog may be displayed and you may be forced to reset.
